Disney @ Night

I am just DIGGING having these passes! :o)

Wednesday night, after church, we went to Disneyland. It's open until 11pm. I had been hinting to Dh for the past few weeks that we should go......I meant ALONE. lol He insisted the ktbunch tag along. (gotta love those family guys)

Riding the Matterhorn, while the 50th anniversary fireworks show was going on would have been the most romantic thing....if dd wasn't hugging my knees in fear of the Abominable snowman! lol

I just love how magical Disneyland really is. All the mood lighting in the evenings really helps. I know it's all 'atmosphere' but hey, it works. You walk through those gates & suddenly the whole world is romantic, Main Street is quaint, MY kids aren't the ones crying, it's great. I love it, Love it, LOVE it!

The flowers are perfect & I even noticed they grow edibles. I saw tomato or bell pepper plants, basil, strawberries, lavender, besides lemon trees & some lettuces. I wonder what they do w/ it. Do they donate it? Use it @ their restaurants? it's not that much...but it's something. Is it a requirement of the city or WHAT? I really want to KNOW. What other purpose would they have for planting FOOD @ Disneyland?

I hope google can help me...........

I found this:
Tomorrowland - Tomorrowland was unique in the problem it presented: how do you go about representing the future through plants? When Tomorrowland was being redesigned in 1998, the Imagineers settled on the concept of "Agrifuture," with all the plants throughout Tomorrowland edible. In the 1950s, however, the Evans brothers made the decision to represent the future through exotic plants and those that were used in contemporary landscape design. The House of the Future was located around a lushly landscaped area also featuring a pool and some oriental plants; this area is still at Disneyland today and is now home to the King Triton Fountain. One of the goals with Tomorrowland landscaping was to complement the stylized buildings with a collection of assertive plants that wouldn't simply blend into the background.

Funny, I did notice, but forgot to mention that the edible plants were only in Tomorrowland.
I also found this but I ma not sure how factual it is:
Every plant in Tomorrowland at Disneyland in Anaheim, California, is edible. Plants in this section of the amusement park include bananas, strawberries, tomatoes, and more.

Weekend Update!

I think I am going to start my OWN thing here (you hear that Susan, *I* have an idea. lol) A Weekend Update every MONDAY! lol

I had a business party Saturday night, or what was supposed to be one. No one showed up. boohoo. The hostess felt so bad & was so upset about it. She tried to offer me gas $$$ & then a tip even. lol I refused. It worked out in the end anyway because I just had a 'feeling' that I didn't really want to work a show that night anyway.

Also because I finally started & planned on finishing, L's dress that I had bought a pattern for LAST YEAR. I have seen some adorable & incredibly pricy outfits on Ebay. I would never pay $200 for an outfit for my dd, even though it does look quite worth it. Instead, I look @ the pix for inspiration. I promised myself I'd finish her outfit first & then move onto something new.

Her dress was/is actually 2 dresses. A dress & a pinafore, both can be worn alone but I wanted them to be worn together. It was not that hard but still a bit complicated (for a beginner like me) in some spots. I finished it in an evening & morning. I have enough fabric left over that I am going to make her a pant set that will consist of a top & ruffled or flared pants. I'll post a pic later in my crochet blog. lol

Sunday night we had a paid improv show. Ever since our Alumni shows (where I met Steve Carrel! ;o)) I have felt more self-confident about my improv. I am not sure why but I do & therefore I really want to perform more often.

Since it was the last weekend of the month E chose to stay @ work & skip the show. It was a 4 person show, 2 girls, 2 guys. We did a show for this church a few months ago, last year. The audience was extremely small but enjoyed it. From that show we were recommended & booked for a schools' 'winter formal' on a Harbor Cruise Boat. A student @ that school saw us @ the church.

I drove & carpooled w/ the other 2 guys. THAT was interesting. I hate driving & I get so nervous. I was constantly afraid I was going to miss the exit or something, lol, but I never did. And the lack of communication was really funny. One guy was not aware that E would not be going & thought we were joking. And I thought it was already understood that I was supposed to drive....NOPE, I was like, ok lets go & then the guys were like, ok & hopped in the van. Later, E told me he thought J would drive!!!! And the boys told me they had no idea who would be driving until I said, let's go.

I kept emailing them what time to meet to leave & then E was calling them seperately & changing the times on me so I had emailed them 3 different times then E called me to tell me, again, that he called them & changed the time, again. lol SO basically NOONE knew WHAT was going on. lol

The first half of the show was so great. The audience really enjoyed themselves & didn't hold back on the laughter. The church looks like a really great congregation too. The second half was not as good but still enjoyable.

I think I can award myself the 'dumbest line' for the evening: we were doing 'changes' & my line originally was: Have you seen my daughter? & we were supposed to be in Malibu. Then the input was changed to: Spain & I said: {cringe} Have you seen my gondola? OUCH! I asked M, that's in Spain right? She laughed & said, no Italy! DOH! But I redeemed myself when the next input was Brad Pitt & I said: Have you seen all my new children? everyone cracked up & I got the honk! :o)

M said that she is working on getting a show set up 'sooner than June'........& C suggested that as our group name. I actually think it is a really cool & catchy name. He reminded us that any groups who ever have the word: 'Improv' in them...usually suck. We all agreed w/ that. lol

Dangerous Beauty

My hair is pretty much wash-n-wear but occasionally I will blow dry the ends to curl up & outwards in an attempt to look more stylish. Well, all that came to a fiery end today.

My hair was barely damp so I went in to blow dry the ends. My blow dryer has been tempermental lately. When I move the on button to the high postion, it still turns off sometimes. Like it has a loose fuse or something.

Today it was extra cranky & I was getting quite frstrated w/ it. Off, on, off, on, off, on!
Suddenly I start to see not only my hair flying around but SMOKE! In the reflection on the bathroom mirror I also see the handle of the blow dryer turning bright red w/ a FLAME inside it.

I did not attmept to turn it off because the flame was on the handle where the button is. SO naturally I yelled "AH!" & threw it on the floor.

OF COURSE NOW it decides to STAY ON! I quickly unplugged it. The flame went out. I wrapped up the cord & tossed it into the outside trash. My home smelled like burnt toxic plastic for awhile. ick!

Good thing my ahir was about done anyway......but so much for good hair days for awhile. lol

Which goes along w/ my week anyway. I noticed in some recent pix that I ahd soem MAJOR lines going from my eyes down my cheeks. Maybe crows feet except it's not in the corner of my eyes.

I seek out the eyecream aisle in a desperate attempt to salvage any semblance of youth (a lost casue?) I may have left. Oh! The confusion & horror. So many choices. Promises of magical ingredients like: whey, copper, silicone?, & things that sound like botox.....No longer is it an 'anti-aging' formula or 'moisturizer' it's now "decrinkling cream". Can it sound any more scary & discouraging?

And the prices......whew! Well it IS cheaper than a face lift, right? THen I see a display @ the end cap, 2 different 'miracle' products, for the price of one. Perfect.......except each product is for a different decade in life. Ok...there's 30-ish, 40-ish & 50-ish, aka: mature skin. Each has a facial pic of a model next to it.

THe 30ish yo woman definately does NOT look a day over 20ish! The 30-ish woman was Andi McDowell....so I know she is older but the pic of her face is not an accurate representation of MY skin! Yep! I ended up w/ the creams for 'mature skin'. sigh. Can it get any more discouraging?

I'm NOT even in my 'mid'- 30's yet & this is my lot in life? I drink tons of water, actually that is about ALL I drink, I use SPF as if I have stock in it, I use moisturizer w/ spf too AND I still get 'break-outs'....It looks so bad I didn't even want to smile.

Then I realized...I certainly can't spend the rest of my life NOT smiling right? lol So I bought the creams & resolved to get to bed earlier.....if I can.

Then I saw a pic of myself from a few years ago...thsoe lines were STILL there, but apparently I never noticed. HA! Imagine?

The creams seem to be working anyway...& hey...my jeans are looser today!

It's the little things in life, right? ;o)

Barbie Love

I played w/ Barbie's when I was little. I remember that ALL I wanted, for the longest time, was a Barbie! I was practically too old for them by the time I got my first one, but I was sincere when I responded: Just what I've always wanted! after opening my gift from my aunt.

As a grown woman, I decided Barbie was not an appropriate role model (regardless of what she did for budding feminists in the 1970's! lol) for MY dd. I vowed MY dd would not play w/ Barbies & I made sure, for every gift giving occasion, that family members knew that.

However, when my dd was mearly 1 yo (or so) we were walking through Target, she in the shopping cart, when she saw & somehow recognized Barbie & exclaimed: "I want one!" From that point on....she was lovestruck by Barbie. She would walk up to the displayes & comment how beautiful she was & how she wanted one. I would remind her gently: WE do not like Barbie!

I could see her inner torment.....as we would pass a Barbie display she would then say:" I love Barbie----but I don't like Barbie." OR "I want a Barbie---but I don't like Barbie." To make matters worse...she found half-naked Barbies my SIL had outgrown, in MIL's garage & sought them out almost every time we go over there.

My SIL gave me a Millenium Barbie for Christmas 2000. She is very beautiful. She has a golden dress w/ silver snowflake sequins, a gold tiara & gold ring. I think Barbie is fine to collect & display but not appropriate for young girls as a toy. Well, this Barbie has been in her 'wrapping' (no box) for the past 5 years. She even came w/ an ornament. She has been under my bed for quite some time now.

My dd found her one day & came to me so excited to show me what she found. I explained that it was not a toy. She would hold that Barbie, all wrapped up, & just gaze @ her lovingly until I told her to put Barbie away.

The other day, as I looked @ Barbie sticking out from the edge of my bed for the umpteenth time...I thought---> WHAT the heck am I saving this for? I don't have a 'collection', or the potential for one, not even a display case if I DID have a collection.

I said to myself...WTHeck? & I did the unthinkable....I told my littles...if they cleaned their room (it was a major DISASTER, to put it nicely) I'd give them a surprise when they were finished. What will it be?, they asked. (always wanting to know if it will be worth it or not) I promised a piece of candy for 5.75 yo ds & I told L...I would give her my Barbie!

Ds rushed to start cleaning (remember he IS a candy fiend) & L soon followed. She would stop to come & look @ Barbie. Then ask, "I did a little bit of cleaning, can I have Barbie now?" I would repeat, "No, not until your room is completley finished". She asked that about 3x. lol

Finally, (w/ plenty of help from me, of course) the room was finished. I gave DS his chocolate & presented 3.75 yo dd w/ her first Barbie. I even let her unwrap it, she wasted NO time. lol I think she was awe struck.

I made sure to give her some rules:
1) DON'T make her ugly
2) DON'T make her naked
3) Keep your room clean or I'll take her back. (said w/ a smile)

Sigh....what a mom will do for a clean room, a girl will clean her room for! :o)

Long time NO blog....hanh?

Long for me anyway. There has been some 'trouble in Paradise', to put it mildy. Believe it or not the 'Super Couple' has been having a heck of a time the past few days, weeks & even months.

I have been in some SERIOUS prayer & things are looking UP, however, it always does during the 'honeymoon phase' doesn't it?

A friend & I kind of have a running joke. It's practically impossible for me to 'hide' when there is 'TIP' so when she asks if E & I are ok, or how's it going (actually whenever a GOOD friend asks) I usually respond w/ a blunt answer & a smile. W/ this one friend, however, the running gag is: well, we're NOT getting divorced.

It makes us laugh but in all seriousness it IS the bottom line. It puts things in perspective. D is NOT an option for ME. I have considered it & even entertained the idea, of course. No matter how bad things may appear, in the back of my mind, my on going philosophy is: we are NOT getting a D. Therefore, I will put whatever energy is needed into creating a solution to whatever "problem" may arise.

Sometimes it is more difficult than other times, considering there is more than ME involved in this equation. I think though, that w/ most situations you have to look @ the worst case scenario & decide if that is really what you want. All things considered.......is that what you want?

If not, then you work on solution, resolution & restoration. However that may look. It is not always easy but it's my experience that some things can usually be broken down into basic principles. kwim?

Like: being kind to one another, appreciative & not taking anything for granted. It sounds too simple but I think it really is. Life & relationships do not have to be complicated, unless we make them.

So, no worries, the 'adventure' continues...... ;o)

Weekend Update!

Whew! A VERY long weekend, made all the longer by extremely LATE nights that lasted until morning.

DH had a show Thursday night & we went out afterwards to hang out w/ everyone. Then DH had a show Friday night @ 11:00 pm, of course I went to watch. & again we hung out afterwards.....but this time we did not get home until around 3:00 am!

Saturday morning was my monthly sales meeting/celebration. I was going to be recognized for my promotion & I'm on the planning committee & had to be there by 9am. Suffice it to say...I was in OVERDRIVE! lol

Saturday night, I had a show @ 8pm then H had another show @ 11pm. The 8:00 show was solid. The cast consisted mainly of 'old skool' improvisers. THAT was interesting. I let them hash it all out & accepted what I was in & made the best of it...which was quite good actually. ;o)

The audience was quite small for DH 11pm show......but about halfway through...I see this guy subtly slip in from backstage. I'm like ????WTHeck????

Then it dawn's on me.....it's THIS guy! "The 40 Year Old Virgin!" (very funny movie btw)

These improv shows were billed as: Alumni improv shows...so the director, our improv 'mentor' invited ALL the improvisers he ahd ever worked w/ &/or taught. SC was one of them. It was so great & to think that he would come to this little Community College. DH got to actually perform w/ him.

It was just so cool. As soon as the show was over, like a dork, I rushed out to head on over to the green room. It was so funny. I was telling the other girls: BE Cool & not to RUN! So we were walking & started walking faster & faster & broke out in a sprint to the green room. When I got there, DH was just coming back & his face had a giant smile & he looked like a 5 yo as he said: He's RIGHT here!

He was so great....he let us all crowd him & take lots of pix w/ him & talk w/ him. (of course I was one of the few who actually had a camera, so while I took lots of great pix of everyone else, I only have that ONE goofy shot of me!) WE DID act cool & gave him his space...but a couple of the 'Big Dogs' (older, arrogant, male improvisers) kinda monopolized him anyway.

Then we were all gonna go hang out again. So we went to one bar & grill that we thought would still be open, it was 1 am. We walk in, H, SC, me & another girl. SC goes up to the cashier to ask if they are still open, she does NOT recognize him & informs him they are closed & tells him where else we can go that is still open ect. blah blah blah.

Well, this barteneder is looking over @ us...& I can see the recognition dawning on his face, he looks @ me & I give him a subtle nod then he looks back over @ SC. It was the COOLEST feeling. The other girl told me later, she had done the SAME thing. lol I was such a star struck goofball...but I was 'cool'. ;o)

I thought it was rather stupid of the bar to send us away, once they obviously were figuring out who it was! DUH! Seriously though, I felt SO cool, walking next to him out of the restaurant, like: YAH, I'm W/ HIM! hahahahah

So guess WHERE we ended up @? NONE other than the rat hole we were @ the night before....DENNY'S! OF ALL places. What a totally down to earth guy! Seriously. It was such a treat for us.

Funny thing....while we were @ Denny's, DH called a couple improvisers who chose to go out to a 'real bar' & miss the 11:00 show....he told them, sincerely: Get to Denny's, we're here w/ SC! H being an 'improviser'...OF COURSE they did NOT believe him! And since they did NOT believe him, when they immediately hung up & called our other friend w/ us to ask for sure, H motioned to him, so he told them he did not know what DH was talking about. lol We did not get home that night, again until about 3 am...then H put a movie on??? I don't know what he was thinking. lol

The next morning DH got an early phone call.......our friend awoke to check out the improv website & what does he see greeting his groggy eyes? DH picture w/ Steve Carrell! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! He was so brokenheartedly jealous!

Sunday afternoon was the last show & there was a mini cast party in the green room. A bittersweet goodbye, as many of us had not seen each other, nor perfromed together for YEARS. There were new freinds made, hopefully we can still 'hang out'...but who knows. lol

As a thank you gift & tribute to our 'improv mentor' we created a scholarship fund in HIS name, he told us he would receive NO gifts from us...so we thought this was an excellent alternative.

It was also great to hear, from quite a few people, how impressed they were by our ktbunch, how well behaved they were, in the theater even. I was proud of that.

And now..................back to reality. I must say though...I think my improv self-confidence grew a bit, performing w/ the Big Boys & all. I realized that I actually DO miss it & I AM pretty good. I never really believed it before. I slated it as "H thing"...& I was just in it by marriage. lol

Well, not anymore. :o)

Freakiest day!

The freakiness started early this morning around 2am. I awoke to the sound of a large crash inside my house. I jumped out of bed & asked DH if he heard anything, no, of course. We looked into the living room, nothing. Ktbunch sound asleep, dog quiet.

I felt very shaky inside & scared. I started to think maybe I had been dreaming & laid back down while DH looked in the kitchen. I felt really shaky. I decided to go to the restroom since I was awake. As I tried to open the bathroom door, I gasped as I saw that the bathroom cabinet, that was formerly above the toilet was on the floor. Everything was strewn about, broken glass, toilet seat lid off it's hinges.

I guess it was the adrenaline rush, but I suddenly felt like I was going to vomit. I got the tingly throat & drooling mouth. I felt like a chicken w/ it's head cut off as I paced back & forth from the toilet to the tub, stepping over the chaos.

I didn't vomit. I tried to lay back down while H cleaned up the glass @ least. The sound of him sweeping was like ear splitting nails on a chalk-board. I had to cover my ears w/ a pillow but it didn't help much. My nerves felt raw.

I felt scared to death! We awoke to the phone ringing @ 7:50 this morning, good thing because we slept through the alarm & DH had to be in by 8:30a!

Then later this afternoon, I witnessed a giant, angry swarm of bees traveling through my front yard. I made sure all the windows were closed & brought the dog in. There was well over a 1000. I've never seen that many in one place like that before. And it wasn't a tight swarm like in the movies, it was wide, they covered both the 2 sides of my front yard.

I called the city & they said they do not chase bees! Well, duh! But I explained that the swarm had landed in a tree, by the curb. (public property) They said they would send someone out. I saw a city truck drive up to the curb a little while ago but then just drove away. The bees are still there though because I can see a few around the tree. My H is deathly allergic to bees...so I hope that wasn't the city truck that didn't do anything!

Finally, for about the 4th or 5th time.....we've missed the trash truck! They used to come to our home LAST, between 2-5pm. I always have the boys take it out when they wake up. I guess now the trash truck come to our home first, maybe somewhere between 7-8am! I was up early & I did not hear them & I had the boys set it out early too but it was too late! aarrgghhh!

New Breed of Grandma...

Who You Callin' Grandma?

quotes from the article (linked above) are in italics

I love my grandchildren, but being a grandmother got added to my to-do list.
WOW! That's what children, grandchildren are now....just another notch on a To-DO list?

I wasn't a stay-at-home mom, and I can't be a stay-at-home-grandma either.
Can't or WON'T?

Inevitably, her daughter was angry and fed up, saying, "You make time for other people, but not for me."
BINGO! Let this be a warning to us NOW---TIME is REALLY what our kids want & need...& if neglected, resentment will be carried into adulthood.

D'Apolito said her daughter remembers "my mother, always home, the good old-fashioned grandmother. We never had to call. My daughter reminds me how nice that was."
DUH! they just don't care about what their own kids think---the writing is right there on the wall!

"I love those little kids and I do want to have a relationship with them," she said. "But I'm not willing to give up my writing or my traveling. I'll be the best grandmother I can from a distance."
That's it...she is NOT willing to be a grandma....basically to be loving. NOT WILLING.

"I tell them it's not important for me to come to their birthdays -- they don't even know I'm there. But I'll stop by and spend an hour or two when it's just them and me," she adds.
Did anyone else think this comment was INSANE?

the image of the grandmother should show her writing checks.
Ok if that's ALL they want to be valued as---a BANK?

*****************
*****************

Ugh...this attitude...it's really appalling & I actually feel angry!

The entire article just reeks of ME, ME, ME...& basically that EVERYTHING else IS more important than their own children & grandchildren.

All I know is that *I* will NOT be this way. I've already told my dc that they BETTER make regular date nights w/ thier spouses JUST SO I can spend time w/ MY grands!

Sure, there are things I want to do 'when I grow up'...lol, but I figure it can still include my family & grands. kwim? I expect to take up quilting...& how nice would it be to have time to enjoy learning & teaching my grands someday too.

I mean I think it will be SO exciting to be a grand NOT a 'parent'...so much more freedom. I can sit & read & not worry about when & if my child learns to read...that will be their 'mom's' job. ;)

I'll just to get to sit & read & enjoy & send them home @ the end of the night.

These 'grandmothers' try to say that it's just that they want time for themselves & their H...NO, they want time for thier books, travel, & mostly WORK! good grief!

I have many friends who struggle w/ this same attitude within thier own families. It's disappointing. There's NO support anymore. But that brings me into a whole other topic...so I'll get off my soapbox....for now.

I'm sorry if someone finds my rant offensive, but I find the attitude of this article highly offensive & I can't overlook it or hide my feelings about it.

I missed it ALL!

I LOVE the Oscar's & back in the 'day'...we used to even host funky Oscar Parties! I vow EVERY year that THIS year will be the year I actually see all the Best Picture Nominees so I can make an 'informed decision' for my vote. lol I just LOVE it.

So.....another exhausting weekend. I was out all day & went home looking forward to a relaxing evening vegging out in front of the tv to watch all the glitz & glamour.......after cleaning my kitchen, folding literal mountains of laundry...I FINALLY turned on the tv to see the cast of Crash hugging & congratulating each other....it was the LAST award of the evening. It was OVER. I'm not even sure what other movies were nominated this year. :o(

{sigh} I feel like this is the story of my life lately....everything is OVER before I even get a chance to enjoy it, even though I am looking forward to it. {sigh} Something's gotta give..........

I was happy for Crash...that might have been the ONLY nominated movie I saw. It IS excellent. I highly recommend it if you haven't viewed it yet. Such an honest movie.

What we did Wednesday

H finagled Annual Passes for Disneyland w/ some Disney gift cards we got from my family for Christmas. The littles had never been there before & we hadn't gone in ages.

It's nice because we can go back, almost anytime we want. Not on Saturdays, which is fine because H never has Saturdays off anyway.

We took our time getting there, which ended up being 'peak' time, I think. lol We had to wait in line for awhile to get our pictures for our passes. Then we were off. L wanted to go on the train, first thing. I was carrying her on my back...& when we got up to the platform, there were some large tree roots that had raised up the concrete, but not broken through.

I did not even see them & started to trip. I could not catch my balance & I did not see the other tree roots so finally I fell & she flew off my back & fell too. I was fine but she was really crying. She hit both her elbows & one had a mean scrape. I asked a 'cast member' if they just had a band-aid but they didn't. They insisted on calling First Aid & suggested we put some ice on it. FIrst Aid wanted us to walk there, if we were able. I just wanted to get the day started. sigh.

So we made a mini-trek to First Aid...where they checked her out & put a giant bandage. It wasn't even a Mickey Mouse bandage...what's wrong w/ these people? lol

Finally we were on our way. S decided he was VERY hungry, we hadn't even done anything yet. So we ate a giant corn dog (yummy) then made a 'right' into Tomorrow land. Their first ride was Star Tours. Since they're mini Star Wars geeks, it was perfect. They LOVED it. L was just tall enough.

Later, we made the mistake of going into Fantasy Land---so crowded. I forgot how scary the Snow White ride is too---ick! We went on the tea-cups. You can see in the pix above. I love that pic that is all blurry in the background. I felt nausious just standing in line for it. lol I remembered the days when I would enjoy spinning as fast as possible. Now it's time for my ktbunch to enjoy that---but not me. lol

L is so MY girl. She loves fast, thrilling rides. She raises her hands, screams & yells, 'Faster, Faster!'. (I hope she won't be attracted to boys like that, ie: thrilling & 'fast'. lol) She cracks me up.

Towards the end of the afternoon, we headed on over to Ca Adventure. We'd never been there before. I heard it was 'lame' but it looked like lots of fun. It was certainly way less crowded. It looked like it had more 'grown-up' rides. I can't wait! We only went on a few more rides. We were in no hurry & under NO presure to get it all done in one day. (the beauty of passes) We know we can go back anytime. It's a great incentive to get the ktbunch to finish up their school work daily. ;o)

I do have one hesitation.......Disneyland is like the consumer capital of the world. I am afraid we will turn into materialistic heathens. lol It's so easy to get caught up in all the 'propaganda'. kwim? To buy STUFF! Useless STUFF. We stayed out of the stores, that might be the trick...but boy was it tempting...even IF we didn't have any $$$$. lol I felt like Pinocchio on that island. Like everything is shiny & new & tantalizing & calling out to you...buy me, buy me. I mean doesn't EVERYONE need a pair of mouse ears & gloves? lol (we got neither)

My favorite 'souvenir' to get is actually postcards...but I forgot to grab one before we left. Their usually inexpensive & they can go in a scrapbook. (if I ever start that hobby again)

I was still exhausted & running on fumes...but I just enjoyed the day w/ H & had a good attitude. Cause that morning, I did NOT feel like going but *I* wasn't going to be the 'party pooper'. No way! H was excited to surprise the ktbunch. We did not tell them where we were going....but S is smart, he kept saying; 'We're either going to Legoland or Disneyland, I think.' H told them we were going to the beach.

They were so good too, no bad attitudes or anything. I think it helped that we were relaxed & in no rush. I saw a few 'large' families there. One young couple w/ 4 boys & another family w/ 5-6 kids. They looked like they were having fun. I wondered if they were homeschoolers since it was a weekday. lol Then I saw one mom w/ quite a few kids but she was dressed like a Bratz Doll! :O seriously. Wierd.
