He's 2 now.

I planned it completely last minute....I mean, what's a party with out a theme? I chose race cars cause that was the jumper they had. I don't like licensed character themed parties. I think it turned out fabulous. I found a free checkered pennant graphic online & used it to create the birthday banner.  I scoured blogs for inspiration.

We had pizza and LOTS of red & black licorice.  Red & black balloons.  We made a road for a table runner. The pinata was fabulous.  It was low key and K really enjoyed the jumper.  He didn't even take a nap because the jumper arrived right at nap time. He was so good though.  He enjoyed the jumper until all his cousins arrived.  Once they were all in it, he enjoyed playing in the dirt with little hot wheel cars.  By the end of the day he was filthy and ready for a bath. 

The party ended earlier than we expected so we headed out to an art showing of a friend. Of course he fell right to sleep in the car.  He woke up later, nearly bed time.  He was okay though. The weather was gorgeous.  We were a bit worried because a few days earlier we had a freak hail & rain storm. It all turned out well though.  Over all, it was a nice party. ;-)
