Often we hear things sometimes like: God is protecting us from something else, when something that is perceived as 'bad' or 'negative' happens in our lives...this only makes half-sense to me...until tonight.
I live on a main street in suburbia, on a corner. There is a cross walk on my corner & it is between two other main street lights but there is no stop sign or light @ my corner. There have been many, MANY accidents at this intersection, on the main street.
Tonight there was another one. The one car that instigated the impact was completely trashed on the front end. It appeared the axle was broken, the hood was destroyed so you could see into the engine area, the windshield while intact, was separated from the frame & severely cracked all along the bottom and the air bag deployed. There were no visible physical injuries of drivers or passengers. The other car was at least driveable but this one was not.
Initially this appeared to be 'just another accident'. Being used to this now, I went out to check on the drivers. I assured the one in the closest (& most thrashed) car that everything would be ok. It was his 1st car accident & naturally he was nervous & adrenaline rushing.
When I came out of my house to check the scene, there was a man standing next to the other car--I THOUGHT he was the driver...& that he was calling the police to report the accident...
What the man I was reassuring, nor I, did NOT know, but I found out later--was that that man who was standing by the other car was NOT the driver. He was in the CROSS WALK as the accident happen. Most pedestrians have a hard time crossing there because cars do not like to stop. Tonight was no different except it was night time & slightly foggy out.
The pedestrian had JUST stepped off the center divider curb BUT the cars were NOT stopping...so he steps off THINKING they are going to stop--& then BAM this accident happens just FEET away from him--literally!
My oldest son points out to me later--THIS ACCIDENT virtually SAVED the pedestrian's LIFE! These cars could have hit this pedestrian, not seeing him...INSTEAD the driver I was speaking too...dropped something in his car, leaned over & ended up in the other lane (closer to the pedestrian's side) & then crashed into the other car in the middle of the intersection!!!
DO you get that?
We don't always see the WHOLE picture. We only see our own little, narrow POV. I know the car drivers don't realize that their accident saved this man's life. God allowed 2 cars to collide--w/o injury to anyone but major damage to a car--to SAVE a LIFE! What satan intends for harm--GOD uses for GOOD!
We may not understand everything that is happening in our lives at this very moment..but GOD is protecting. He is making a way. He sees the WHOLE picture. We can be sure that NOTHING is wasted--nothing is in vain.
Gen 50:20 You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.
Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
CHRISTmas is coming!
