Often it FEELS like one step forward and 2 steps back...some good things happen and we feel confident and hopeful...then suddenly something negative occurs and it's like it cancels out EVERYTHING good that just happened.
We think to ourselves: 'That crafty satan is trying to steal my joy, my hope, my peace.' Newsflash! NO surprise there.
John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
Let's turn this around RIGHT NOW. Christ did not die FIRST and THEN the fall of mankind. Adam and Eve sinned AND THEN Christ came. Refer to the verse above again...it's not that Christ came with life AND THEN satan comes to steal, kill & destroy. The enemy comes to devour first AND THEN Christ comes in with LIFE.
See, satan has NO power over you or your emotions. He steals and Christ gives back. Go slowly here and wrap your mind around it. He steals FIRST, not second. You have YOU--your own strength and will. Satan comes to steal THAT.
THEN Christ comes to GIVE you what you need-- peace, hope, joy. All of this is HIS to GIVE. It's not that a good thing happens AND THEN the enemy steals it away. It's that the enemy kills and destroys and CHRIST comes to replace it. It's the opposite see?
A bad or negative event occurs...NO--rebuke the idea that the enemy has stolen your hope, peace, joy. Instead...recognize and know that Christ IS COMING to GIVE it right back to you...AND that He already has.
The bad doesn't happen AFTER the good. The GOOD happens AFTER the bad. Focus on that. If you feel
low, discouraged, doubtful, whatever--turn that train around and head straight TOWARD the blessing of joy, hope, peace, praise and thanksgiving that Christ is GIVING you. Right now. If anything, think this: if I am feeling a loss or deficit, then I KNOW that Christ is on His way, if not here already, to GIVE me something to replace or refill the empty space that has been left.
Bad things are NOT on their way. GOOD things are!!! Focus on Christ's COMING and GIVING. Not on the loss and losing. Keep praying friends. ♥ ♥ ♥
Good things ARE coming, K! Just have faith in that :)
