Happy Father's Day

The Mr. got a last minute coaching job (not sports!) offer for Sunday morning & chose to do it to have some easy cash in his pocket. The kids & I went to morning church and met him back at home.

Then we hung out here at home for awhile. The Mr. loves Chinese food, however, I am not that big of a fan....so naturally I conceded today and he got us take-out for lunch.

Later it was somehow decided that we would go to the Drive-in. Yes, they still have them & they are a bargain & great if you have kiddos. You can choose to see 2 movies for the price of your ticket (which is way cheaper than walk-in movie theaters) plus you can load up your car with your own snacks & goodies.

Not to mention it's pretty comfy. We usually park back wards, open up the hatch & pull out the back bench seat for the Mr. & I. That leaves a bunch of space for the kiddos to pile up all their blankets & pillows and get comfy for some good movie viewing. The soundtrack plays on the radio so you listen to it through your car speakers. In case you were wondering. ;-) This time though, we didn't pull out the back seat. Oldest just folded the back down for both rows and the Mr. & I sat in our beach chairs. Perfect. It was a bit chilly but we were ok because we brought lots of blankets.

We watched The Green Lantern and X-Men: First Class. Both were pretty good, you know, for super-hero movies. :-)

How did you celebrate Father's Day?

  1. That sounds like a fun day! My husband was out of town, so we celebrated with my great BIL and his dad. We all went to the theater actually (something he enjoys) and watched Mr. Popper's Penguins. We had almost a row and half of seats taken! Then I ran around with my sister and made two big pans of lasagna, a big salad, and garlic bread with some special desserts...a berry crisp and peanut butter chocolate chip cookies.
