Friday's fun

We woke up early (for us) to watch & attend the last space shuttle mission @ the Downey Space Center launch party. It was my idea so everyone was a bit reluctant to be awakened early on a summer morning! We arrived a few seconds after the actual launch, but we were still able to view it flying through the atmosphere, via the camera on the nose. It was still incredible. I felt almost emotional. I guess because it's so sentimental to watch history as it happens.

We'd never been to the space center before and it is fabulous! If you have a chance, especially if you have kids, you should check it out. It's extremely kid-friendly with lots of hands on opportunities. They have other events planed through the summer like a rocket launch contest, a star gazing night and a shuttle landing party. I hope we can attend more.

Later in the afternoon we went to Chick-fil-A, dressed as cows, for a promotional for free food! It's a fun time and offers something different that you don't do every day. haha. The kids scored full meals and oldest and I each got a sandwich, gratis! K loved saying hello to the big giant cow.

After that (yah, there's more) it was off to the theater for Sammy & Birdy's dress rehearsal for their dance concert....and finally home for a bit of relaxing before bed. The Mr. and I were going to go out ourselves but by evening time, we decided we were done driving and would rather relax a little at home.

What a fabulous summer day!!!
