The march is over.

Anne Voskamp had a good take on March, in her blog. She equated it to marchING around Jericho...and it really stayed w/ me.

What I got from her initial post was the idea of marchING through the past month (of March), by giving thanks, intentionally, & therefore using that thanksgiving as a way of bringing down the walls/obstacles in our lives...as part of our weaponry.

For me personally, I FEEL as if that was my MARCH---> a battle. Seriously. And today I woke up, it's April, March is over. I felt as if the battle is OVER. "The march" is over.

Now, it's just a matter of *waiting* for those walls to FALL DOWN. The fight is over, the battle is won.

Today is Palm Sunday, the day we remember Christ's triumphant entry. A week later, they were crying out for his crucifixion BUT, I see it STILL as a Triumphant Entry of a King....into his kingdom. The battle over. The victory won. "It is finished," he said.

And so it is.

We tend to see the triumphant entry & then look @ the next week as things having taken a horrible turn...but really, they took a wonderfully marvelous turn. The ultimate sacrifice was given & grace made available for ALL who choose to receive. Christ, our King, entered into the battle himself--and He won, which means WE win.

The march IS over.

  1. You make me think of something the Lord told me yesterday in service - we were singing, "strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord, wait upon the Lord, we will wait upon the Lord."

It was like I was looking at a word puzzle that suddenly became clear - yes, wait as in patience but also wait as in serve. Strength will rise as we're obedient and serve Him while we wait on His timing/blessing/provision.
