That is what my friend and I do every Friday. We meet at the park and while the children play, we visit and pray. Our local park has a fabulous new playground. It has a child-sized rock climbing wall and other features that allow for children to swing, spin, work on balance, climb--lots of climbing.
I look at my daughter and every day I am so fascinated and amazed by how pretty she's getting. Not that I am surprised she is 'pretty' but that she is growing old enough to BE pretty--not the cute little toddler I remember. I am so blessed to be her mother. She is getting so tall, so quickly.
I pray for these children every.single.day! As well the other members of my family. I don't take this assignment lightly. It is my responsibility and privilege as a wife and mother to diligently pray over and for the needs of my family. I also pray for my friends who are in need. I don't say this to boast. I say this because I take it as seriously as feeding my family. I could not be half the mother I am if it were not for the grace and wisdom God has bestowed on me.
I have been praying for my oldest since he was born and for my youngest since before he was born. I have been praying for their future, future friends and, God willing, future spouses. I pray specific virtues for them. I pray for their protection, purity and the protection and purity of their future spouse. I have been praying for my oldest's future spouse since he was a wee one & therefore praying for HER since SHE was a wee one, where ever she is and whoever she may be.
I think what I need to improve on is praying WITH them. I definitely need to do that much more often and diligently.
I hope, you realize, there is no better way to bless your family, than to pray for them regularly.
God knows how often I pray for you. Day and night I bring you and your needs in prayer to God, whom I serve with all my heart by spreading the Good News about his Son. Rom 1:9
