Today we had S & Bird's birthday party @ a local water park. Wow! It turned out so well. Unfortunately it was extremely stressful before hand. :( We arrived much later than anticipated. Baby K did NOT hardly sleep a wink last night with the croupy cough virus he has....(Bird & E have it too....more on that later) Needless to say the morning did not go well at.all!!!
Once we arrived and met up w/ friends and family things began to look up. This was the first time we've been to this water park. It is small, local and new. I was so impressed. It was pretty low key, not crowded at all. This was the first week it was open. (prior was weekends only) There were a lot of life guards. I mean a lot. The lazy river must've had 1 life guard about every 6-10 ft.
The kiddie area had life guards at the bottom of each slide. The grounds were clean. The food was 'tourist' priced but there was a $5 combo that was reasonable. The weather could not have been better. It was warm with a slight breeze, not too hot, not too cold!
The kiddos reported it as the best birthday ever. I must say, I think we spent the least $$$ ever too and that was after paying for all the kiddos that were invited. That was nice. I would be tempted to get a season pass for the water park except I feel so busy this summer already. I am not sure how many opportunities we'd realistically be able to have or how crowded it would be as the summer progresses.
S wanted an Alice in Wonderland (Tim Burton version) themed party decorations. There wasn't anything to decorate @ the water park but I will decorate more for his actual birthday on Friday. I did make cupcake toppers though that turned out well. I am hoping to have an Alice in Wonderland *inspired* quilt finished for him by Friday too.....I should be doing that right now....obviously I am not. {sigh}
I thank God for redeeming this day that started out so negatively.
