Today's hike was very low on the adventure scale and visual interest. It was windy but the trail is full sun and warms up quickly. Maybe it's because of the drought but I find the *brown* trails very boring. I prefer lush and green not dry and dusty.
Parking is free in the neighborhood at the trail head. Bring plenty of water. Depending on the season, this full sun trail can be a scorcher! Definitely a good work out too as there are plenty of hills.
Some days you can get an awesome view of the ocean, especially from Del Cerro park, near the trail head. We did hear, what sounded like peacocks squawking near by but they are not at the preserve, but at a private property.
Semi-stroller friendly as the trail only has small rocks but you would definitely be pushing that stroller up some hills and I wouldn't want to do that.
This is not a trail I would want to return to during the dry or hot season. Maybe when the drought is over...
See ya next week.
